Low on energy in the morning? You might be low on an essential mineral. Check out this report on iron deficiency. Now I know you can get iron into your diet a number of ways (certain vegetables, supplements, etc.) but doesn't a nice steak sound like a much tastier way to accomplish it? Plus it gives me an excuse to take care of that 'wine deficiency' at the same time! ;)

After having parked in one of those "not-very-well-marked" spots downtown in Toronto, this article from the Toronto Sun piqued my attention...and my blood pressure. Your Thoughts?
Kinda of an interesting little slide show of how they make the amazing floats for those Mardi Gras parades down in New Orleans, from The Beeb.
After more than 20 years in business, The Roxx Niteclub is closing its doors.

If you heard Mike tell you this story on the Kool news yesterday afternoon, but didn't believe it...Believe it! This restaurant is right down the street from the Golden Nugget in Vegas on Fremont Street. I've actually stopped outside it to read the menu. Oh My God. I could feel my arteries hardening just reading the menu!
Check out this video that Laura found. I don't think that even with these tips I could pull it off.

An apple a day...is better if you know how to bake. Right Judy Foodie?
"If you knew Victor like we know Victor..." There's another layer of the onion being peeled away in this ongoing story about the governments attempts to keep an eye on what's going on online. And this time it's the "I only come out into the daylight to attend Star Trek conventions" crowd that's peeling away! You know it's Vic Toews who's the government's point person on this cyber crime bill, right? Well, now there's an anonymous twitter account that's been set up to let us "get to know about Vic". Here's the sordid details from the Globe & Mail. I'm not a big fan of these kind of tactics, no matter which side is using them. However I'm sick of the "If you're not on our side you must be (fill in ridiculous inflammatory claim here)"! So, if this stunt works to cool off the rhetoric, then fine. This story ain't over yet.

If you take the utterly ridiculous "If you're not doing anything wrong, then you have nothing to worry about" argument out of the discussion, the "cyber watch" bill that the Tories are pushing back onto the table sounds a little "Big Brother-ish" to me. Now while I agree, we need to give police the tools to crack down on crime in this brave new information highway age in which we live...I also feel that the standards which have been in place in other areas of law enforcement need to be respected, like the need for a warrant. Check out the latest from The Globe & Mail and the Toronto Star. What do you think? Are you in the "Hey, I've got nothing to hide so it doesn't affect me" crowd? Or, are you in the "It's a slippery slope" crowd?
