Fish Tales

Apparently, this photo has been around for months, but it's been making new appearances of late, thanks to a story in a British newspaper.

The question: is it real?

Take a look.

That's a Koi fish, the kind you might see at a Chinese food restaurant. Except, it's HUGE!

It was caught by Raphael Biagini in France. He's caught gigantors before, just not quite as orange as this one, I think. He let it go, by the way.

Is it a hoax?

Yahoo! reports:

According to Ken Peterson, Communications Director at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, this isn't out of the realm of possibility. If a koi has the right amount of food, and enough space to grow, he says there's no telling how big they can get.
