Brit Brit Gets The Brush Off

03 Jul 2008

Britney Spears' hyped two-episode appearance on How I Met Your Mother didn't catch the eye of Emmy voters, who left her off their list of semifinalists for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series, per the latest round of Emmy scoopage from the L.A. Times' Gold Derby blog.

Spears shouldn't feel too snubbed, though—fellow twentysomething Mary-Kate Olsen, who played a pot-dealing proselytizer on Weeds, didn't make the cut, either. And she's been acting all her life!

Where would the US Election be without him?

On the eve of The Rush Limbaugh Show's 20th anniversary, the conservative talk-radio host has signed an estimated $400 million deal with Clear Channel Communications that will keep him on the air through 2016, the New York Times reported Wednesday.

According to Limbaugh, that hefty sum includes a $100 million signing bonus. His existing $225 million, nine-year contract was due to expire in 2009.

Foxx TV

Jamie Foxx is adding reality television to his résumé.

The Oscar winner is an executive producer of MTV's From G's to Gents, a new competition show in which host Fonzworth Bentley (aka, Diddy's Personal Umbrella Holder) attempts to makeover a bunch of rather rough men into charming sophisticates.

Baby Mania

Reports are now surfacing that Angenlina Jolie's doctor, Michel Sussmann, says her twins will most likely be delivered "in the weeks to come."

Ange is currently in the hospital - only under surveillance, he stressed, - not due to any medical emergency.

Her doctor continues, "Her hospitalisation at this stage of her pregnancy is strictly normal for someone who underwent a caesarean in her first pregnancy.

Well it’s about time

The British media reports that a Friends movie is in the works.

Apparently, the success of the Sex and the City movie has inspired the crew to get back together and make a flick.

A source says, "Jennifer (Aniston), Courteney (Cox) and the rest of the cast are keen to reprise their roles, under the right circumstances. The box office success of Sex And The City has really got their wheels spinning about how a Friends film could be just as big, if done right. Timing and the script are really important, but now that Courteney and Jen both have production companies, they can potentially get very involved in those decisions."
