The yet-to-be released film Soul Men lost two of its stars to death this past weekend.
Music legend Isaac Hayes and comedian Bernie Mac starred alongside Samuel L. Jackson in the story of two estranged soul legends (played by Jackson and Mac) who reunite at the Apollo Theater to honor their recently deceased band leader.
According to a recent report, everything has been shot, so there should be no problem with getting it ready for release, but how Dimension Films will release it is in question.
The movie doesn’t open until November 14th, but it's speculated that the studio may decide to delay it a little more because the theme of death is so pronounced in the plot. The audience may need a little more time to grieve the passing of Mr's. Mac and Hayes before seeing them in such a heavy film.
Sam Jackson must be going through such a tough time at the moment, but we're sure he'll see the film through promotion brilliantly.
Smoke and Mirrors
A little girl and her song captivated millions of viewers during the opening ceremony of the Olympics. But what they saw was not what they heard. Games organizers confirm that Lin Miaoke was not singing at all. Lin was lip-syncing to the sound of 7-year-old Yang Peiyi, who apparently was deemed not cute enough for TV.
Paris in Trouble
Paris Hilton is in trouble for supposedly not doing enough to make National Lampoon's Pledge This! sound hot.
Not concerning itself with what a daunting task that was, the film's distributor, Florida-based Worldwide Entertainment Group, sued the heiress Tuesday for breach of contract, charging that she didn't come through after being paid $1 million to star in and promote the 2006 comedy.
Oh, she starred in it alright, playing sorority queen Victoria English. But, per the lawsuit filed today in U.S. District Court in Miami, Hilton—who was also listed as an executive producer—owes $75,000 in damages for failing to provide "reasonable promotion and publicity" for the movie.
The straight-to-DVD Pledge This! came out in December 2006, with Hilton's mug plastered across the cover, indicating that she was a major part of the film. And, if memory serves, the presidential candidate and star of the upcoming Repo: The Genetic Opera did not go to jail until June 2007, so that wasn't what was keeping her busy at the time.
A rep for Hilton didn't immediately respond to requests for comment.

Move over Dog the Bounty Hunter, CBS is bringing back Hawaii Five-O.
It sounds like it will have the crime procedural stuff that all you CSI and Law & Order fans love.
And, since it's set in Hawaii, you know there's going to be some good looking crime fighters and criminals!
Think Baywatch with guns!
Another stupid idea coming to TV!
According to Variety, ABC is turning the book/movie Witches of Eastwick into a TV show pilot.
A lot of you probably weren't even born when Eastwick was released. But it was a GREAT film!
It's basically about three women who turn to witchcraft after losing the men in their lives. They conjure up a devil-like character, who then proceeds to seduce all three of them.
The movie starred Jack Nicholson, Cher, Susan Sarandon and Michelle Pfeiffer.
Will ABC hire the movie cast??? Don't think any of them are very busy these days!
It would be Golden Girls meets Witches of Eastwick! Now that would be interesting.
