Blowhard Alec Baldwin whined in a recent interview that NBC hasn't done much to promote his show as opposed to My Name Is Earl, which he thinks sucks."NBC hasn't done a thing to help this show ('30 Rock'). They've gone out of their way to wring the last drops out of 'My Name Is Earl' and 'Scrubs.' Those shows are done! They're cooked! Yet they do a one-hour episode of 'Earl.'" No surprise, Baldwin's pout infuriated My Name Is Earl creator Greg Garcia.Garcia issued a scathing statement in response: "(Baldwin) sounds like a psychotic narcissist. Instead of blaming NBC, I think Alec should consider that some people in America may not want to watch a man who cusses out his own 11-year-old daughter on a phone message. Oh, and the reason NBC occasionally puts on an hour long episode of 'Earl' is because an hour of 'Earl' gets better ratings than an 'Earl' followed by a '30 Rock.' It's called math, stupid." Ouchie!Alec Baldwin sort of apologized to the Earl cast but then throws a low blow:My apologies to the cast and crews of My Name Is Earl and Scrubs. In my frustration with NBC's reprehensible promotion of 30 Rock, I took an unfortunate swipe at both of those shows and that was not cool. But, for Earl's creator, Greg Garcia, who referred to me as a "psychotic", I have only one question. Why are you Scientologists always rendering these medical opinions you aren't qualified to give? This is getting good! Stand UP

No surprise, Baldwin's pout infuriated My Name Is Earl creator Greg Garcia.
Garcia issued a scathing statement in response:

Stand UP
Even in a tough economy, people will open their wallets for a great cause!
Organizers say Friday night's historic, star-studded Stand Up to Cancer telethon helped push donations to the charity past the $100 million mark.
"On behalf of the Stand Up To Cancer leadership team, we are tremendously grateful to everyone who contributed to make this historic event a success," said Lisa Paulsen, head of the Entertainment Industry Foundation, the charitable organization behind Stand Up to Cancer. "This money will go directly to funding the research programs necessary to defeat this insidious disease."
More than 100 stars from music, sports, TV and film, including cancer survivors Sheryl Crow, Christina Applegate and Lance Armstrong, came together for Friday's live telethon, which was co-emceed by rival network news anchors Katie Couric, Charles Gibson and Brian Williams.
It Was Bound to Happen
After a $4 billion-grossing summer, Hollywood slogged through its worst weekend of the year, per studio estimates compiled today by Exhibitor Relations.
The weekend was distinguished, if not defined, by Bangkok Dangerous, the new Nicolas Cage action movie, which finished first with the lowest gross for a No. 1 movie in five years ($7.8 million).
If estimates hold, the $45 million Bangkok Dangerous will barely have had enough fire power to outgross the debut of 2008 bombs such as Mad Money ($7.7 million) and Space Chimps ($7.2 million).
Big Trouble for Little Guy
The pint-sized actor is in big trouble this morning for allegedly hitting a man with his truck outside a Utah bowling alley.
Coleman's bodyguard/friend told local reporters that right around closing time, Colt Rushton, 24, asked to take a photo of Coleman, 40, and his wife, Shannon Price-Coleman, who were finishing up a game. When Gary said no, Rushton refused to back down and started harassing the on-again-off-again newlyweds.
The overly-aggressive fan followed the couple out to the parking lot where, according to the bodyguard, Rushton was hit by the actor's pickup when he ran around it as Coleman was backing out. The Diff'rent Strokes star also hit another car.
Rushton has a different side of the story. He says he was just trying to get his cell phone back from Shannon who had snatched it away. That's when Coleman put his truck in gear and and knocked him to the ground. He also said Gary threw several punches at him before getting behind the wheel.
Rushton was treated and released from a local hospital.
Police are investigating the incident and say alcohol may be a factor.
Bad Girl to Bad Girl
The Right's Dr. Laura, the homophobic radio host, plans to vote for John McCain, but….
She's not pleased with the choice of Sarah Palin as VP.
The doc took to her blog and slammed Palin by calling her an unsuitable role model:
I’m stunned - couldn’t the Republican Party find one competent female with adult children to run for Vice President with McCain? I realize his advisors probably didn’t want a “mature” woman, as the Democrats keep harping on his age. But really, what kind of role model is a woman whose fifth child was recently born with a serious issue, Down Syndrome, and then goes back to the job of Governor within days of the birth?
