Since the conversation over the last day or so has bent towards tattoos, this seemed like a good reference article from Chatelaine to go on. My question is, if you're thinking about getting inked (tattooed), why would you already be interested in how to conceal or remove it? Let me ask you, if you have a tattoo, especially in one of those areas that you can't see (back, shoulder, rear, etc.) who are you doing it for? I mean, isn't the point of getting a tattoo to make a statement? And how will everyone know that you're making a statement if you keep it under wraps? Just a few questions to ponder.

No wonder "The Bieber" got a haircut! He knew the dangers and you should too. It's now clear that that fashionable hairstyle may be hazardous to your health! So if you're determined to be hip and keep up with the kids...you do it at your own peril.
This little article from the Toronto Star caught my attention yesterday. "KeepHerHappy" is a service that you subscribe to that will make sure none of those important dates go unnoticed. So whether it's your anniversary, her birthday, Mother's Day or whatever...you'll be covered. You sign up, give "KeepHerHappy" your "dates" and fill in the appropriate cards...that's it! Doesn't it just leave you with a warm fuzzy feeling? Interested? Okay, here ya go, but if you get caught, I don't know you!

Although Laura didn't think it ever looked good. Do you have any Prom horror stories? Not quite on the level of "Carrie" horror stories, but bad dress, bad date, bad luck, whatever.

Yes, that was sarcasm. So what do you think about the proposal put forward by Scott McInnis owner of The Ranch, to bring an event center to the Five Points in downtown Barrie? It would appear that some Barrie City Councillors are questioning the proposal's intentions. While I do think that downtown Barrie is "crazy" enough, I'd hate to see a missed opportunity to bring a proper 'event' venue to our city because of what it "might" be used for. Not that there's anything wrong with where our current events ore housed, but a downtown facility could add a new reason to make the core a destination for people, both local and tourists. What do you think? Would you like to see the building near the bottom of Bayfield Street turned into an event center? I hope council and business can come to an agreement, because I think it's something that could work. The parking, on the other hand, might be a problem...but that's a bridge we can cross when we come to it.

Susanne Hewitt! Congratulations Susanne. Looks like all that terrifying fun has paid off. Your little para-sailing adventure (and the fact that your daughter Jordynn sent us the pic) has won you a $500 shopping spree at Botanix in Barrie!
MP Patrick Brown stopped by the Kool studios to fill us in on this year's Barrie Half Marathon.
It's filling up fast, so don't "snooze and lose"!
Cheerleader Mom Maria Whyte couldn't wait to jump up to help daughter Ashley finish off this very impressive looking pyramid. Congrats Maria! Now it's off to Botanix for you.
Oh the debate is "on"! With the new Time magazine cover stirring the pot and Elisabeth Badinter's controversial parenting advice turning up the heat...it is a hot topic. What do you think? How much parenting is too much parenting? Should moms be guilted into sacrificing their careers and lives in order to be "the parent" 24/7? When should the apron strings start to loosen? Is breastfeeding while the kid's talking to you a little weird? Your thoughts?

Being a teen is tough enough in so many ways, but body image tops it! And with the advent of airbrushing and photo shopping now, there's no way you can realistically achieve the body image being promoted in these magazines. Well now, someone in the "target demographic" has said "enough" as a teen takes on Seventeen magazine. How about you. Do you still buy into, and thus support, the "culture of fake"?
