NOT TO SOUND TOO LEFT LEANING, BUT THIS SOUNDS A LITTLE "BIG BROTHER-ISH" TO ME.

If you take the utterly ridiculous "If you're not doing anything wrong, then you have nothing to worry about" argument out of the discussion, the "cyber watch" bill that the Tories are pushing back onto the table sounds a little "Big Brother-ish" to me.  Now while I agree, we need to give police the tools to crack down on crime in this brave new information highway age in which we live...I also feel that the standards which have been in place in other areas of law enforcement need to be respected, like the need for a warrant.  Check out the latest from The Globe & Mail and the Toronto Star.  What do you think?  Are you in the "Hey, I've got nothing to hide so it doesn't affect me" crowd?  Or, are you in the "It's a slippery slope" crowd?

I am definitely in the slippery slope line. With GPS on my iphone and high speed always on at home - they can easily watch and follow me now if they wanted too. Passing this bill isn't going to change that. It just makes it legal for the police and government to do this for our own good of course! Harper is more dangerous than Bush ever was.   The only way to ensure they aren't tracking you is to get off the grid entirely which is pretty impossible these days because of our own dependance on technology to connect.

Makes me think of the movies Minority Report, Enemy of the State, and even older, The Net. They were precludes in my opinion.
