If a federal election was held today it’d be too close to call between the Conservatives and Liberals. An EKOS poll gives the Tories 29.4 per cent support and the Liberals 29.1 per cent. When the summer began, the Harper government had what many considered a comfortable 11-point lead. What went wrong? Many of those surveyed pointed to the scrapping of the long form census, saying it costs the country vital data.
