Former "Sex and the City" star Cynthia Nixon is creating controversy by saying she “chose” to be gay. She told New York Times Magazine, “For me, it is a choice. I understand that for many people it’s not, but for me it’s a choice, and you don’t get to define my gayness for me." Nixon had a long relationship with a man and they had two children together before she coming out as a lesbian in 2004. Nixon added, "Why can’t it be a choice? Why is that any less legitimate? It seems we’re just ceding this point to bigots who are demanding it, and I don’t think that they should define the terms of the debate." Her statement hasn't gone over well with gay activists. A writer for the Gay Times had a sense of humour about it though and later tweeted: "Putting Cynthia Nixon to one side. Let's hear from some famous bisexual men who chose to be straight, starting with EVERYONE IN HOLLYWOOD."

It continues to get nasty between actress Halle Berry and her Canadian model ex Gabriel Aubry, who also happens to be the father of her 3 year old daughter Nahla. They both turned up in Los Angeles Superior Court yesterday for an emergency closed-door hearing, after the nanny accused Aubry of shoving her and was seeking a restraining order. The woman claimed she was "psychologically traumatized" on the job and that within a week of working, Aubry became verbally abusive and aggressive toward her. She claims that he "violently pushed her" on January 18th, but the judge denied her request citing lack of proof. However, Halle is trying to prevent Aubry from having any contact with Nahla (based on a child endangerment investigation) and a judge is expected to make that decision on Monday.
